Surfers Paradise - Gold Coast

Accommodation
Accommodation choices are endless, with styles to suit every person and prices to suit every budget. Self-contained apartments are very popular on the Gold Coast. Most have million dollar views of the ocean, spectacular sunsets and peaceful national parks. Check in at one of the luxury hotels and resorts if you wish to be pampered. Many choices are available. A hotel and casino, resorts by the sea and hotels surrounded by championship golf courses and spectacular gardens.

Education
Australia's largest private university is Bond University and it is located at Robina. On campus accommodation is available in the form of private rooms or share dwellings. Griffith University offers an extensive range of courses and is located at Parkwood. The Gold Coast Institute of TAFE has four campuses on the Gold Coast. They have approximately 17,000 students enrolled each year. What better place is there to learn than on the Gold Coast.

Dining Out
The Gold Coast has a smorgasbord of over 500 restaurants to suit any taste or occasion. Seafood is a local specialy with trawler fleets from Main Beach and Tweed Heads bringing in fresh catches daily. Almost every style of international cuisine is available on the Gold Coast in many styles to suit every budget, from stylish and classy to family and less expensive restaurants. Many restaurants offer buffet breakfasts, lunches, and dinners which are great value at a fixed price. Many shopping centres offer a wide range of dining options from popular fast food outlets to upmarket cafes and restaurants. Many parks have free electric barbecues and hot water if you prefer to cook your own meal. This is a great idea for lunch after a swim at the beach. Whatever your taste buds may desire, there is something for everybody.

Shopping
The two major shopping centres on the Gold Coast are Pacific Fair in Broadbeach and Australia Fair in Southport. Both centres have over 250 stores and both feature a cinema complex screening the latest movies. There is also Robina Town Centre in Robina which is next door to the Robina train station. Harbour Town is the latest shopping centre to hit the Gold Coast with many discount stores and factory outlets.

Sport
Golf is a very popular sport on the Gold Coast with over 40 of some of the world's best golf courses. Surfing competitions are held on the beaches of the Gold Coast.Other sports include tennis, swimming, cycling, volleyball, and many more.

Transportation
Brisbane and Coolangatta airports have limousine, taxi, coach and hire car services available to take you to your destination.The new citytrain railway provides an inexpensive and convenient link from the Gold Coast to Brisbane. Interstate bus services are available at the Surfers Paradise bus station. Connecting most coastal suburbs are Surfside Buslines which run 24 hours per day.
